PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Lauderdale County Agricultural Multipurpose Complex is envisioned as a versatile, community-focused facility designed to host a wide range of events. Currently under construction, Phase I includes a multi-use arena and plaza, a covered warm-up area, two 200-stall livestock barns, and two storage facilities. Once completed, these facilities will accommodate concerts, rodeos, graduations, athletic competitions, family entertainment shows, religious gatherings, as well as livestock and equestrian events.
Future phases of development will expand the complex to include a 100,000-square-foot exposition hall, a large-scale event center, and dedicated RV and camping grounds. The master plan also incorporates a Vo-Tech career training center, a workforce development center, retail shops, restaurants, and four hotel sites, establishing the complex as a regional destination for education, entertainment, and commerce.
MHM provided comprehensive programming and master planning services for this 200+ acre site and has collaborated closely with the Lauderdale County Agricultural Authority to strategically phase the construction. The first six facilities were prioritized to launch this transformative community complex. All buildings utilize pre-engineered metal structures, enhanced with bold color elements to create a strong, recognizable identity for the complex.
Phase I construction documents were issued for bid in late 2024 and came in under budget, allowing for the inclusion of additional equipment and expanded project scope.
The master plan features a prominent boulevard entrance off Highway 72, leading into the site. Retail developments are planned along the west and north perimeters adjacent to the highway. A hotel court will serve as a visual anchor at the western entry, while the agricultural facilities will form the eastern focal point, descending toward a scenic lake and surrounding walking trails at the lower end of the site. RV camping areas are planned for the southern and eastern corners of the property. Additionally, the State Vo-Tech Facility and County Workforce Development Center will be located near a secondary eastern entrance off Highway 72, offering convenient access and shared event parking with the Ag Complex.
